Please provide a short description of your initiative (What is being done? Who is participating? What are your main goals?) This text will appear on the main page.The public administration South-Holland (a densely populated urban province with 3.7 million inhabitants encompassing The Hague and Rotterdam) is actively encouraging and supporting citizen science initiatives around air quality and the environment. Goal of this project is to engage citizens with science and their environment, but also to complement and improve the official national data and models. The province is providing financial support, but also facilitating active community management and support (which is outsourced to The Green Land)

Please share any other relevant/interesting links about your initiative:It is a great example of a public administration body showing the willingness to partner up with both citizens and external (private) organisations to improve air quality itself and quality of measurement. Thanks to this project and The Green Land’s efforts on community stewardship and support over the past 3 years, there is now an active community engaged on the project’s forum, monthly check-in and best practices meetings, networking sessions, interaction with local governments, and there were various workshops and learning sessions organised by The Green Land to expand knowledge and skills.

Co-Designing Inclusive Mobility: CoMobility

Location: Warszawa, Poland

Description: In CoMobility, we measured PM2.5, PM10, NO2, and noise in three elementary schools in Warsaw, Poland as well as conducted a series of co-creation workshops, where young experts (2nd and 3rd grade pupils) collaborated with adult experts to enhance more sustainable mobility solutions and reduce the use of private cars in their schools neighbourhoods. Among the co-created and implemented solutions are bicycle road maps, street art, children gazette, and single actions such as children manifestations or mime performances.
